This exquisite wheel features teak and holly wood laminates with virtually invisible scarf joints, together with areas of beautifully clear-coated carbon-weave laminate. The spokes are carefully sculpted into the teak and holly rim for a very comfortable grip for the helmsman, as well as a robust connection of the spokes to the wheel rim. The wheel rim is constructed of alternating layers of teak and holly creating a beautiful contrast of two classic maritime woods. The level of construction and finish in these wheels is unmatched, and as a result, they quickly become the focal point on the finest vessels. These wheels are coated with multiple layers of clear Awl-Grip® for a mirror finish. They are available with or without Edson's wheel clutch.

The Carbon/Wood Inlay Wheel is an example of our most dramatic and finely crafted wheel to date. These wheels were originally crafted for a custom Baltic 97 and feature a 48"(1220mm) custom molded carbon fibre wheel that has recesses molded in to accept an exquisite lamination of teak with a highlighting border of holly. The spokes gently blend into the rim with an artistic visual segue of carbon fibre. The wheel rim is crafted in alternating layers of teak and holly with a touch of exposed carbon fibre for contrast. The wheel hub features an optional Edson wheel clutch set into a carbon fibre hub. The entire wheel is coated with multiple layers of clear Awl-Grip� for a mirror finish.

Weighing a mere 3.5lbs (1.5kg), the Edson ProSeries Carbon Wheel features a unique forked tri-spoke design, superb strength and fingertip sensitivity. Edson’s Polished Bronze Wheel with Teak Handles add distinction to any traditional boat. The bronze wheel body is delivered highly polished and with regular maintenance will retain its attractive gleam, or it can be left to age gracefully and take on a classic patina appearance. Available in sizes from 20” (508mm) to 30” (762mm) in diameter, the Bronze Wheel features varnished teak handles and a 1” straight shaft bore. The solid teak handles are held securely with stainless carriage bolts, which can be easily replaced if needed.

Our Tan Character Wheels are patterned after the traditional heavy cast iron wheels of yesteryear, only ours have been updated with modern materials and construction methods. Cast in marine-grade 356-T6 Aluminum and powder-coated tan, this up-to-date version is much lighter than the original, yet retains its strength and beauty for years to come. To ensure a precise fit to the wheel shaft, a machined stainless insert is pressed into the hub.

The Tan Character Wheel features Edson’s classic Teak handles and is available with a 1” straight bore. Available in sizes from 20” (508mm), 25” 635mm), 30” (762mm) and 35” (890mm).

Simplicity is the keynote for Edson’s Classic Bronze Wheel. The tumbled bronze body will age to an attractive patina over time, yet the wheel will maintain it’s strength and durability after years of use in a working environment. Six 5” teak handles are held securely in place with stainless carriage bolts and can be easily replaced. The overall diameter is 19” (483mm) and the hub is available in either a 1” straight or a 3/4” tapered bore. A true workhorse with the classic good looks of a thoroughbred.

Edson’s Dual-Spoke Stainless ComfortGrip™ PowerWheel is available in 14.5” diameter and features a split, dual-spoke design that is a contemporary update to the classic style popular on sportfishing boats and offshore “battle wagons”. The large, open area inside the wheel rim also provides unobstructed views and access to dash-mounted electronics and controls.

Discerning boat owners and builders can personalize the wheel by engraving or laser etching a company logo or boat name on the wheel hubcap for a nominal charge. We’ve given our classic tri-spoke ComfortGrip Powerwheel a Satin finish that is silky-smooth but without the bright glare of polished stainless. Includes Stainless Wheel Nut with inserts for 12mm & 5/8”-18 threads.
