The Edson Clutched Bi-Spoke Destroyer Wheel offers the ability to disengage the wheel from the wheel shaft and steering mechanism while under autopilot. This greatly reduces the “Flywheel Effect,” which puts tremendous load on the autopilot. The Clutched Wheel features twin, tapered spokes for an elegant and attractive appearance. This spoke arrangement also adds a tremendous amount of fore and aft strength and rigidity to the wheel, making it an excellent choice for the offshore passagemaker.
